Shiai Rules

Unless otherwise stated, all matches will follow FIK Rules and Regulations. We will continue to use the Provisional rules as set forth by FIK.

All individual championships will utilize a “double-elimination” seeding format in which each player participates in an initial “seeding” round to determine their placement (either first or second) in the championship round. In the event there is an odd number of participants, a random participant shall be automatically placed in the seeding round.

Men’s and Women’s teams will utilize a “double elimination” seeding format in which each team participates in an initial “seeding” round to determine their placement (either first or second) in the championship round. In the event of an odd number of teams, one seed group will have an additional team.

Food and Beverages

Lunch can be pre-ordered for each of the three days of competition (Friday - Sunday). Each lunch costs $18 per day (e.g. a competitor requesting lunch for all three days will pay $54). Beverages will be included with lunch.

Lunch will be served at the UNLV Dining Commons (4 min walk from the tournament venue) and will include vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Shinpan

Regional federations are asked to nominate qualified shinpan by April 18, 2026. Qualified shinpan are defined as 5 dan and above, in good standing with AUSKF, and recommended by their federation president.

Selected shinpan will be provided hotel accommodations at the headquarters hotel from July 2-6, 2026, and a travel stipend of $600. Hotel accommodations provided will be double occupancy reserved by the AUSKF competition committee.

Shinpan should plan to arrive on July 2nd, 2026 in time to attend a 4 PM shinpan meeting at the venue. Shinpan should plan to depart no earlier than July 6, 2026.
